Christ's Presence

At present Jehovah's Witnesses believe that Christ has been invisibly present since 1914.

But for more than 60 years Jehovah's Witnesses were taught that the Bible declared that 1874, not 1914 was the date when Jesus' second coming began.
In the Watch Tower book Creation, on page 289, it says;

"The Scriptural proof is that the period of his presence and the day of God's preparation is a period from 1874 AD forward."

World War 2

Did Jehovah's Witnesses link World War 2 with the battle of Armageddon?
The Watch Tower Society would have you believe that it didn't. And it says, in their Kingdom Ministry publication of January 1968, on page 5;

Is this true? Again we must answer in the negative, with proof from the Consolation magazine dated October 29th, 1941, where it says on page 11;

"Meantime the German people are awakening to their horrible predicament. They no longer laugh as decent men and women were made to laugh, but their faces are white, pinched and filled with forebodings of what the near future will bring and is already hastening to bring to them - Armageddon, the battle of that great day of God Almighty."
